An Establishment of Aquaculture Technology Joint Venture ＝ Goldis Bhd. and Australian Enterprise – Malaysia

[Kuala Lumpur, 20 March 2006 Jiji] On the 20th, Malaysian private equity investor Goldis Bhd which handles businesses related to life sciences and telecommunication technology exchanged the contract of an establishment of “Protech Yu” Sdn. Bhd., an aquaculture technology and related product joint venture company with Australian enterprise Fish Protech. Johan Don, the founder of this company, is targeting the sales of the technology developed to Chinese enterprises and he is going to invest RM1 million for the establishment of hatchery centers, etc.

Investment ratio in this joint venture company is 70% by Goldis Bhd., 5% by Fish Protech, and 25% by EPAQ – a company setup in Brunei by Mr. Don and his partners.

Mr. Don is involved in food safety projects of the United Nations, and has cooperated with over 50 Australian companies. Aquaculture is considered a high risk business but all companies that cooperated with this Mr. Don have not failed.

養殖技術の合弁会社設立＝ゴルディスと豪企業－マレーシア

【クアラルンプール２０日時事】生命科学や情報通信技術関連事業などを手掛けるマレーシアの持ち株会社ゴルディスは２０日、養殖技術と関連製品の合弁会社「プロテク・ユ」の設立契約をオーストラリア企業フィッシュ・プロテクと交わした。同社の創設者であるジョハン・ドン氏が開発した養殖関連技術を中国企業などをターゲットに販売する計画で、まずふ化センターの設立などに１００万リンギを投資する。
　合弁会社への出資比率はゴルディスが７０％、フィッシュ・プロテクが５％、ドン氏とそのパートナーがブルネイに設立したＥＰＡＱ社が２５％となる。
　ドン氏は国連の食品安全にかかわるプロジェクトにかかわっており、１９８８年からこれまで豪州の５０以上の企業と提携してきた。養殖事業はリスクが高いとされるが、同氏と提携した企業は１社も破産していないという。（了）
